It's amazing how many people honestly believe that the folk you meet on the internet almost don't exist or don't count. How stupid is THAT? I've met some of the best people EVER on the internet. I've had friends for 13+ years from the internet (from all around the world), though people who I've met in real life can't even be arsed to stay in touch from the same city.

I have made good friends on the internet too though also on the flip side have experienced people not turning out to be who you thought they were based on what they had told you about themselves but that has happened with people I have met and worked with face to face aswell.

I think the same rules apply when making friends over the internet as you do face to face and likewise I think those friends are equally as important in your life :075:

I have been extremely lucky with the people I have met on the internet. Almost all have turned out to be wonderful people who I will stay friends with come hell or high water. Like Theresa, I have experienced people who have been a real disappointment because what you see isn't what you get but hey ho. All it does is teach me to be even more selective, which isn't a bad thing. I have to say my experience of people met is a lot more good than bad :077:
