I think this goes for anything, someone who is compassionate about what they do.

A good dog trainer must be someone who is good with people as it is not just the dog you train iyswim!!

IMHO, a good trainer is someone who is always open to new ideas and who is willing to change their ways and learn new methods. someone who listens carefully.. not to the sound of their own pomposity but to the dog and his owner.
everone's an expert when it comes to dog training but in my opinion an expert is this.. an ex is a has been, and a spurt is a drip under pressure..
and those who always make their gums go most, usually know very little. Its easy to knock someone down but far harder to build someone up.. in my opinion praise is worth far more than criticism.
