Interesting. I was aware that Hills teach nutrition classes at some Vet colleges and that is their only source of information. I have never, ever let my vet tell me what was best for my girls food wise. I have disagreed and fallen out with them many times. Even when Kali had pancreatitis, I wouldn't give her the cr@p they were peddling.
It is a food minefield out there :065:

Very worrying isn,t it,i also don,t feed what the vets tell me too, they have gone down in my estimation anyway,we like to think we are feeding the best we can,but obviously,we need to research our decisions more carefully,i,m going to see about getting mabes the robbies that you use sceryl xx

The treats at Healthy Paws are nicer. Fruit cookies or peanut butter and oat cookies. I have a doggie biscuit cookbook...never used it.....do you want it? You can bake cookies for all things...anti flea, nice breath etc. All natural. Got the bone shaped cookie cutters too!

There is a big movement in the States about only feeding natural fool because of preservatives in the meat meal used in even some quite posh foods. I know people who makeall their dogs meals, and a breeder of GSDs for the police who only feeds raw tripe. I suppose that is why Rufus has a mixture. Just defrosting some raw lamb bones to salve my conscience. That will be tea for tonight. Just been put onto tripe sticks for his teeth. Look absolutly disgusting, but he loves them. Has one for lunch each day. Oh yes and what category do the delicious potato skins he snaffled off my plate yesterday when I was on the phone come into?
