I did it at 6 months. That was on the advice of Burns although having read posts on COL it seems most people there do the same. Burns told me as soon as the new teeth are through they can go over the big biscuits.

I was just reading up on this because of your remark about her being so small and apparently it is the opposite that is true. Small breed dogs mature more quickly than larger breed dogs. If she is on Burns and you are keeping her on Burns then Burns are the people to ask as they know their food better than we do xxx

Changed all mine at bout 6 months
Well in the old days they never had puppy, junior then adult food - in fact they didn't have puppy at all, and you used to feed them til they were 6 months on weetabix and really well soaked adult food
It's up to you really when you want to change - i wouldn't before 6 months tho but after that I would

Hope she enjoys the adult food - I changed mine over slowly as if changing brand of food so they got used to it over a period of a week or so

Harry was 6 months when he came to us & we put him straight onto Burns adult food.
This is what Burns told me:
We would usually change puppies to adult foods at 6 months of age however this is dependent on what has been fed previously.
If the current diet fed to your 6 month old has a protein level over 26% then we would recommend the Canine Extra for 2 – 3 months before moving onto an adult food.
Some dogs do better on one variety than another but this cannot be predicted. It is down to each individual dog and unfortunately a bit of trial and error.
Some dogs will react in different ways if the variety is changed overnight. We always recommend 5 – 7 days to change a diet variety within the Burns range of foods.
